Dear Mr. Spencer,

I just finished reading the online version of your book, "Beyond Mormonism" and wanted to tell you how much it touched my heart! I am a convert of 21 years to the Mormon church and have been questioning it's truthfulness for a long time. I am "coming out" of the church, but have not had the courage to tell my husband, who is a life-time Mormon member/return missionary, etc. Please pray for me as I strive to do what is right---going away from the Mormon church and coming to Christ, my Lord and Savior.

My daughter is also "coming out" of the church so please pray for her also. Thank you for your courage---in taking the step out of the Mormon church and then writing about it! God bless you and your family!

Love, in Christ Jesus,

Jody

  Jody,

What a toucing letter!

You will have to reach down deep in God's grace to do what is right here. But I remember the old proverb, "To thine ownself be true." You do not dare let a mere human being prevent you from establishing your own relationship to God Almight.

I would keep in mind the Mormon Church's own Eleventh Article of Faith:

"We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may."

It is even right in Mormonism's eyes to allow people religious freedom (Well, at least, theorhetically.

If you have a "safe" mailing address, I can send you some printed material which may be helpful to you.
