Dear Mr. Spencer,
Thank you for standing rightly with Jeff Weeden's ministry. (2 Timothy 2:15) rightly dividing the word of God.) I to was a victim of Jeff Weeden's ministries. My friend next door told me about this ministry and they have Bible studies every Tuesday night. My friend was very excited and wanted me to check it out. I did that next Tuesday and I was hooked like a Marlin being reeled in. To make a long story short, I asked my closes brothers from my church to come to my Bible study meeting. My brothers were very concern for me and I was so glad they cared for me. They came to the meeting with open ears and what they heard was very confusing. [Weeden's teaching is that] his ministry is the only way to Heaven. After the meeting my brothers said, "This sounds like a cult." I felt very ashamed, like I had let Jesus down and I was very hurt. That night I E-mailed the person doing the Bible study and asked him if he believed Jesus came to earth and preached the word of God in a physical body. The person E-mailed me back and said "No he never touched this earth, it was a dream or vision and people wrote down what they saw in a dream or a vision." I was shocked to read what this person wrote. (Clearly in John 1:14 the Word was made flesh dwelt among us.) To conclude this letter: The person next door is still believing this cult teaching and my heart goes out to him, we pray for our neighbor. Finally Hebrews chapter 1 sums up what we need to focus on--Jesus Christ. Again thank for your serving God in this way. Eph: 2:10: "For we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we shall walk in them." |
