Whited Sepulchers: The Hidden Language of the Mormon Temple

The Mormon Church boasts that it constructs a new ward meeting house somewhere in the world every day. In addition, Mormon temples, once rare outside the Rocky Mountain States, now blossom all over the world. Bright and dazzling, with futuristic needle-like spires, these temples herald the "restored gospel" of Mormonism

But are the temples truly "Houses of the Lord" as the LDS Church proclaims? The authors' previous book (Mormonism's Temple of Doom) documented the connections between the rituals of the LDS temple ceremony, Freemasonry, and Witchcraft. That book described the temple ceremony and alluded to the occult architecture of the Salt lake Temple. Here that theme is expanded.

The authors maintain that the Salt lake temple-an architectural statement of Mormon theology-is not a house of God at all. they believe Mormon temples are "whited sepulchers"-a term Jesus used to describe the Pharisees of His day. He said, "...ye are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and all uncleanness." (Matt.23:27)

After the publication of Mormonism's Temple of Doom, dramatic revisions were made in the 140-year-old Mormon Temple ceremony, including removal of the blood oaths. The authors hope the Mormon Church eventually will renounce the temple ceremony in its entirety.
