We should not be surprised at the abundance of occult symbols upon the Mormon Temple. Nor should we be surprised that Astrology (which was practiced by many early Mormon leaders) should come into play. The moonstones were ordered carved and positioned by Orson Pratt to coincide with the phases of the moon for the year 1878.
